It is with profound sadness we share that RedFlash Group Founding Partner Jake Knight passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, after a sudden and unexpected illness. He was 57.
Since co-founding the RedFlash Group 25 years ago with Keith Griffiths, Jake has been a steady leader and a trusted partner for employees, colleagues and public safety organizations across the nation. To RedFlash staff, he was known for his unwavering commitment to the organization’s culture, his desire to foster success in others, and the genuine kindness he showed in every interaction.
But the impact of his professional life extended well beyond the “virtual” walls of our workplace into the communities we serve. Among the public safety and 911 organizations we support, he was trusted for his strategic approach to solve meaningful challenges and his ability to communicate the benefits of complex technologies and public safety solutions.
Jake believed that the work we do in support of fire, EMS, 911 and law enforcement ultimately touches real people in moments of need. This gave him joy and purpose, and his valuable contributions to client projects helped communities improve cardiac arrest response, implement Next Generation 911 technologies, make connections between advanced crash notification and 911 centers, and foster new technology development for emergency responders.
To know Jake was to know his love for baseball. This played out in his professional life daily, from his data-driven and analytical approach to decision making; to his patience and persistence, believing that strategy, consistency and process will result in the “win.” And through his commitment to team success versus individual success, focusing on finding the most impactful role for all stakeholders in any endeavor.
As we honor his legacy, we will forge ahead with the same purpose he lived every day, ensuring that the company not only endures, but continues to grow and thrive.
Without question, RedFlash will not be the same without Jake here every day. His focus on strategy, process, data, and consistency in client work–along with having joy and purpose in our work– is woven into the fabric of this organization. Please join us in remembering Jake, in celebrating the work he poured himself into, and in holding his loved ones in our thoughts.
A Celebration of Life will take place Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, in his hometown of Carlsbad, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to help create The Jake Knight Foundation supporting public safety in Jake’s honor. If you would like to share your thoughts and memories of Jake, we welcome you to send them to our team and his family by emailing [email protected].
